  • Dear Members

    Dear Member,

As our valued members know, Nevada’s Governor has mandated the closure of our facility as of Wednesday, March 18th, 2020 due to the Covid-19 virus.

While we had hoped this would not become necessary, we understand the Governor’s decision and the seriousness of the current situation.  Closing non-essential businesses will be a blow to the state and country but will help protect us and our families and help ensure our region’s medical facilities do not get overwhelmed by the spread of the virus. As a small business, this will be a difficult time for us as well as all similarly affected businesses.

We know the Club is a home away from home for our members and we will miss our members during this temporary closure. We truly appreciate our members and everything they do to support the Club.

We are using the period we are closed to continue the renovation of the facility (including painting the pools) performing additional cleaning and sanitation, replacing carpeting in certain areas, refurbishing the wood floors and other projects so we are clean and in great shape when we are able to re-open.  We do still have bills to pay including rent, utilities, insurance, property taxes, pool chemicals, and payroll for employees we need to retain to maintain the Club and be positioned for re-opening.

Given the situation, we ask that our members continue with their normal monthly dues for the month of April, drafted mid-March and for May to provide us some assistance in covering costs for the next 30-days or until we are allowed to reopen.  If you are unable to bear the charges, we will understand and ask that you email Marlene ( Marlene@caughlinclub.com ) and she can reply or give you a call to discuss your situation and placing your memberships on a freeze status at $20.00 per month.  We appreciate your help in retaining needed personnel to maintain the facility and return to normal operations as soon as we are able.  Your continued support means a lot to us and we want to thank you for your help in getting through these challenging times.  Please support your other local businesses to the extent you are able.  We will get through this as a community and have faith in the American spirit.

We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will all keep up your fitness activities from the safety of your own homes until we are able to see you again.

We will provide additional information as it becomes available. We look forward to having you back in the Club soon!

  • To Our Valued Caughlin Athletic Club Members

Dear valued Caughlin Athletic Club members. First, we want to let you know how much your support means to the club. We sincerely appreciate your membership and hope everyone is staying healthy and safe.

As many of you already know, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak ordered certain businesses in Nevada to close their doors for 30 days beginning at noon today (3/18/2020). Casinos, gyms, nightclubs, restaurants, and other nonessential businesses were ordered to shut down statewide.

The club has now closed its doors. We plan on taking the time to continue the renovation of the facility (including painting the pools) and will be performing additional sanitation so we are clean and in great shape when we are able to re-open.

We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you will all keep up your fitness activities from the safety of your own homes until we are able to see you again.

We will provide additional information as it becomes available. We look forward to having you back in the Club soon!

  • To our valued members!!

    To our valued members!!

Many of you probably don’t know that Caughlin Athletic Club is not located in the City of Reno but rather is situated in and licensed by Washoe County. As such we do not fall under the jurisdiction of the City leadership.

First of all, I would like to thank you for supporting our facility during these uncertain times. At this point, we plan to remain open until we are ordered to close by our County Commissioners, the Governor or Health Department. As of now, the Health Department has not supported the City Mayor’s decision to close bars, nightclubs, restaurants, and gyms. Mayor Schieve clarified that other “non-essential” businesses are not being required to close in Reno following yesterday afternoon’s press conference. We will try to keep you updated as it relates to the club as the situation progresses.

We are taking all the standard precautions and common-sense practices to prevent the spread and transmission of communicable diseases. We have increased the frequency of our cleaning and disinfecting of the equipment and facility and have paper towels and cleaning solution for your use at the club.

We are asking you for the following:
    · If you have traveled outside of our area we are asking that you do not use the facility for 14 days (Traveling is different than commuting)
    · Please remain home when exhibiting influenza-like illness signs or symptoms, such as fever, accompanied by muscle aches, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, or if experiencing vomiting or diarrhea.
    · Vigilantly comply with frequent hand hygiene, cough etiquette, and environmental cleaning with a focus on high touch surfaces. Hand wash frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and avoid touching your eyes, mouth or nose.
    · Please do not remove shirts (basketball players) or have skin to skin contact with equipment. Please use a towel if necessary.
    · Wipe all equipment down before and after usage.

It is a good precaution to also wash your hands again after your workout and throw the workout clothes and hand towels (if you brought your own) in the wash after you get home.
